Just tried to install the new SoundBlaster X-FI XtremeMusic driver from Creatives website, and keep getting the error "you havent recently installed drivers without rebooting, must reboot" or something to that extend. Anyway I havent tried installing drivers for atleast a couple weeks since NONE of the beta ones were working, and frankly gave up until now that I believe the updated one works.

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? I figured reformatting would be a good option, but when I went to reinstall vista, the computer couldnt find a partition to install it on.

Anyway, does anyone have a more convenient way to fix the driver problem?

    [
    ]Install Updated Driver:
    • Download the latest driver from the Creative website.
    • Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.
    []Check Device Manager:
    • After installing the driver, check Device Manager to ensure that the SoundBlaster X-Fi XtremeMusic device is recognized without any errors.
    [
    ]Reboot Again:
    • To ensure that the new driver is properly installed, restart your computer again after the installation. If you encounter the issue with finding a partition to install Windows Vista during the reformatting process, it might be due to a missing or corrupted partition. In this case, you can try the following:

Steps to Find a Partition for Windows Installation:

    []Disk Management:
    • Use Disk Management in Windows to check the status of your drives and partitions. You can access Disk Management by right-clicking on "My Computer" or "This PC," selecting "Manage," and then choosing "Disk Management."
    [
    ]Create a Partition:
    • If you don't see any partitions or your desired partition is missing, you can create a new partition using Disk Management. Right-click on unallocated space and select "New Simple Volume" to create a partition.
  2. Format the Partition:
    • After creating a partition, format it with the appropriate file system (usually NTFS for Windows). By following these steps, you should be able to address both the driver installation issue and the problem with finding a partition to install Windows Vista. If you encounter any further difficulties, feel free to provide more details for additional assistance.
