All of my external drives won't display their labels properly in file explorer while it shows properly in disk manager. Attached file says everything.

An image from 'External drives won't display their labels properly in file explorer.'. Windows File Explorer and Disk Management showing storage drives and partitions with usage details.

Right click on the drive in explorer and change the name to whatever you would like.

Does it not allow you to change or not keep the change after you change the name?

Maybe someone can point you to a location in the registry to do this. Beyond my scope. Sorry for the long delay in responding I was on vacation.

Take ownership of the drives and then try to rename them in expolorer.
