Hello,

Any idea how to resolve below error during installation?

Windows cannot copy files from E:\Sources to C:\$WINDOWS.~LS\Sources. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x8007001B

The error message you're encountering during the installation process indicates that Windows is having difficulty copying files from the source location (E:\Sources) to the destination (C:\$WINDOWS.~LS\Sources). This issue could be due to various reasons such as corrupt installation media, insufficient disk space, or problems with the source files. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve this error:

Possible Solutions:

  1. Check the Installation Media:
    • Ensure that the installation media (DVD/USB) is not damaged or corrupted. Try using a different installation media if possible.
    []Free Up Space:
    • Check if there is enough space on the destination drive (C:). If there are insufficient disk space, try deleting unnecessary files to free up space.
    [
    ]Run Disk Cleanup:
    • Use the Disk Cleanup tool to remove temporary files and unnecessary system files that may be occupying space.
    []Check File Integrity:
    • Verify the integrity of the installation files. You can do this by comparing the checksum of the ISO file with the one provided by Microsoft.
    [
    ]Use Command Prompt:
    • You can try launching the Command Prompt during the installation process by pressing Shift + F10 and manually copying the files using commands.
    []Install in Safe Mode:
    • Try running the installation in Safe Mode to eliminate any conflicting processes that might be interfering with the file copy.
    [
    ]Check BIOS Settings:
    • Ensure that the BIOS settings are correctly configured and set to boot from the correct device.
  2. Update Drivers:
    • Make sure that all essential drivers, especially storage drivers, are up to date.

      Additional Notes:

    • If none of the above solutions work, you may need to consider creating a new installation media or contacting Microsoft support for further assistance. Try these steps and see if they help in resolving the error code 0x8007001B during the installation process. Let me know if you need further assistance!
