According to Microsoft's July issue newsletter (Security for home computer users), it seems that we've got more scareware products on the horizon. We've probably all seen them before in one version or another while browsing the web, you get a pop up warning that some form of malicious product has been found on your computers and X amount of files seem to be infected, and if you simply click here all will be right with the world again soon. Typically when I get one of these I use task manager to terminate the browser process, because it seems no matter what you click, including the red X to close the popup, things generally go downhill from there.
So I thought it would qualify as worth repeating yet again here in the security forum....
Watch out for Scareware.
