functions as in the Fn key on my laptop to adjust screen brightness/volume/other things.
I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on my Sony Vaio VGN CS-290. I originally was running Vista Home Premium 64bit without issues.
I did a quick forum search but didn't find anything on it, so I was wondering if this has been covered already or if anyone knows what the issue is and/or how to resolve it. Thanks in advance.

It may work the same way for you as it did for me
I also come across this problem with my Fn keys when installing Win7 Ultimate 32bit on my Samsung R60 laptop.
I went onto my laptop manufacturer's website and downloaded the keyboard drivers for the Windows Vista OS, and all seems to be working fine now.
Check the Sony website for these drivers for your laptop, but in your case remember to download the Vista 64bit drivers (if available)
No guarantees though. It was just a gamble on my part that payed off for me
