Hello. I'm hoping that someone might be able to help me. I'm not terribly good with computers and have been having a problem with my Lenovo T410 laptop.

It seemed like the problem was occuring when I'd move the laptop... but sometimes it happens when it is still.

The machine goes to a "data dumping" screen and then shuts down. It turns back on and gives me an error message GfxUI has stopped working. In one such example, it gave me the following additional information:

Problem Signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: d1
BCP1: 0000000000000000
BCP2: 0000000000000002
BCP3: 0000000000000001
BCP4: FFFFF880018F6DF0
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 768_1

It also gives the path of the data dump file. When I went to the folder, there were several minidump files ending with .dmp. I couldn't open any of them.

Does anyone have any idea what all this means?

Thank you, in advance, for your help.

The BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) is a Windows error screen displayed when a system encounters a critical error that it cannot recover from, resulting in a system crash. The data dump files (often located in C:\Windows\Minidump) contain information that can help diagnose the issue by analyzing what was happening at the time of the crash. To further investigate and potentially resolve this issue, here are some steps you can take:
    1. Analyzing Minidump Files:
[]Minidump files (.dmp) can provide insights into the cause of the crash. You can analyze these files using tools like BlueScreenView or WinDbg. These tools can help identify the driver or component responsible for the crash.
  1. Update Drivers:
    • Since the error seems to be related to GfxUI, consider updating your graphics driver. Go to the Lenovo website, find the support section for your laptop model, and download the latest graphics driver. Install it and see if the issue persists.
    [
  1. ]Check for Overheating:
    • Overheating can also cause system instability. Ensure that your laptop's vents are not blocked and that the cooling system is working effectively.
    []Check for Hardware Issues:
    • Sometimes hardware issues like faulty RAM or hard drive can cause such errors. Running hardware diagnostics can help identify any underlying problems.
    [
    ]Windows Updates:
    • Make sure your operating system is up to date. Windows updates often include bug fixes and patches that can address known issues. By following these steps and analyzing the minidump files, you may be able to pinpoint the root cause of the BSOD error and take appropriate action to resolve it. If you need further assistance or guidance on how to analyze the minidump files, feel free to ask for more help.
