Windows 7 Graphics Driver Problem

I just installed the release candidate after using the beta since it came out, and now my graphics card (8400 gs) is no longer recognized. I checked and my laptop only recognizes it as a standard VGA adapter.

Windows update doesn't offer any driver updates so I went and got the driver from the nvidia website, the installation says no hardware was recognized.

I've reinstalled the os 2 times with no luck. What should I do?

I think what you need to do is go to "device manager", then click "update driver". Select the "locate and install driver software manually". Set the search location to where you downloaded the drivers to,(e.g. C:\NVidia), then click the "Let me pick ..." option. You will need to uncheck the "Show compatible drivers" box. You should find the driver you downloaded here.....signed or unsigned. Select it and click "next" to install. Hope this helps. Even if the only available driver is not written for W7, it may still work.
