Got a bit of a strange problem, I have an ATI Radeon 9200 graphics card installed with 256mb of ram but for some reason windows 7 is only showing 16mb of available graphics memory the system is a home built one with a biostar k8vga-m board and a sempron 3000cpu with 1gb of RAM running windows 7RC 32bit

any suggestions, i tried using the onboard graphics and got exactly the same amount of graphics memory available

First :
Windows don't reconize your graphic card, so it use your on-board graphic card by default, install the lastest driver for Vista if the Windows 7 driver for it doesn't exist.

Second : Maybe the AGP or PCI slot you are using for your graphic card got some problem, so that's why Windows choose your on-board graphic automatically. Try to put it in another slot, I had the same problem as you before, and that's how I fix it.

Good Luck
