Windows 7 HDMI out - No Sound

Recently upgraded to Windows 7 Build 7100 from Windows Vista.

I have a Toshiba U400-108 laptop (PSU40E-009005EN) with HDMI out, however when I connect this to my LCD via an HDMI cable there is picture but no sound. I have tried unistalling the Intel(R) High Definition Audio HDMI and the Conexant HD SmartAudio 221 and reinstalling the drivers (although Windows installed Microsoft's own HD Audio driver
and not the Conexant one) but still having no luck with sound through the HDMI cable.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thank you so much in advance! :)

Hi Ratclifp,
have you checked your sound properties, found via the control panel?

I had the same problem (no sound on hdmi out), for me it came from the drivers for my graphic chipset (Geforce 9300M). It appeared that the drivers were set to DVI and because they couldn't identify the hdmi cable that i plugged in i couldn't do anything about it. So i started looking for better, older drivers (Nvidia's 182.5 for Vista did it for me, with W7 RTM x86).
I'd recommend you do the same for your Intel graphic chipset.
