hi..
recently installed win7 on my 4 year old pc.. everything is fine.. but i discovered that graphic drivers are not installed... so my fav games like cs 1.6 are running in software mode, opengl is disabled. making the game look crap...
so i tried installing drivers from driver cd but it reported "os not supported"..
so searched intel.com for latest drivers... but to my shock.. they said "intel stopped support for your motherboard and win 7 drivers won't be released". :( my board is
intel D865GSA.
even aero is not working.. . but i dont care about it/ any eye-candy things in win7.. i just want my games(not any heavy 3D games) to look better using my hardware.

so i tried installing drivers in cd with win xp sp2 compatibility mode, which worked installing but reported error "display driver stopped responding. save your work and restart....." within seconds after starting the pc.. :(

i can't roll back to win xp, since this pc is not my own and my parents too use it. and my pc can't handle virtual xp mode with my 1 gb ram :|.

so i decided installing a multi boot win xp with already installed win 7.
the partitions are already made.. but i dont know how to install win xp in multi boot.

can someone please help me with this.. or any other solutions to make my graphic drivers work on my win 7 (like any unofficial drivers)
plzz..need it asap.. i am sick with this crap pc and my parents are not going to upgrade the hardware or buy a new pc. :(

Solution
It seems like you are facing issues with installing graphics drivers for your Intel D865GSA motherboard on Windows 7 and you are trying to improve the graphics performance to run your favorite games like CS 1.6 more smoothly. Here are some steps you can take to address this problem:

Multi-Booting Windows XP with Windows 7:

  1. Prepare Windows XP Installation Media:
    • You will need a Windows XP installation disc or ISO file.
[]Create a New Partition for Windows XP:
    • Ensure you have an empty partition to install Windows XP. If not, you may need to resize existing partitions to create space.

    • During installation, choose the newly created partition for Windows XP.
    []Restore Windows 7 Boot Loader:
    • After installing Windows XP, the Windows 7 boot loader may be overwritten.
    • You can restore the Windows 7 boot loader using the Windows 7 installation disc or bootable USB.

      Alternative Solutions for Graphics Drivers:

    [
    ]Unofficial Drivers:
    • You can search for unofficial graphics drivers that might work with your Intel D865GSA motherboard on Windows 7.
    []Driver Modding:
    • Some enthusiasts modify existing drivers to work with unsupported hardware. However, this can be risky and is not recommended unless you are experienced.
    [
    ]Compatibility Modes:
    • Try running the drivers in compatibility mode for Windows XP or using compatibility troubleshooters built into Windows 7.
  2. Generic Drivers:
    • Look for generic graphic drivers that might provide basic functionality, even if they don't utilize all the features of your GPU.

      Considerations:

    • System Stability:
    • Installing unofficial or modded drivers can sometimes lead to system instability. Proceed with caution and create backups before trying these methods.
    • Low RAM:
    • Since you mentioned your PC has 1 GB of RAM, ensure that running multiple operating systems won't significantly impact its performance. Before proceeding with the multi-boot setup or trying unofficial drivers, it's recommended to back up your important data. If you encounter any issues during the process or need further assistance, feel free to ask for help.
