Windows 7 Help xp to vista to windows 7

Hi now i have xp on another computer and i want to upgrade to vista then to windows 7,
but do you need an activated version of vista to upgrade to windows 7
(because vista comes with a 30 day trial)

I would try upgrading from XP first, especially if it is a valid install. You will want to do a clean install, I assume.

According to the word, you have to upgrade from a installed, valid version of the software. Does it have to be activated, I believe so, but not sure. I am fairly sure it will at least need the key entered.

I also believe the prior OS will not be available for activation again.
