I have a Lenovo LQO laptop with an AMD Radeon (TM) 780M display driver and an Nvidia RTX 4060 Laptop GPU. I'm experiencing horizontal lines on my screen that are visible in normal use but not in screenshots. This causes text and images to appear blurry or distorted. I've already updated both the display drivers (AMD and Nvidiathe BIOS, but the issue persists. In this image you guys can see that minus is having two line , This is the issue.

Solution
Hello @Ambarish, Thanks for reaching out about the horizontal line issue on your Lenovo LQO laptop. It sounds frustrating, especially since you've already tried updating both display drivers and the BIOS without any luck. Here are some potential steps to diagnose and fix this problem:

Hardware Checks

  1. External Monitor Test:
    • Connect your laptop to an external monitor. If the lines do not appear on the external display, it's likely an issue with the laptop's screen itself.
    []Check for Physical Damage:
    • Inspect your laptop screen physically for any damages or abnormalities. Sometimes a loose connection or a damaged screen can cause lines.

      Software and Driver Checks

    [
    ]Reinstall Display Drivers:
    • Sometimes, merely updating the drivers doesn't fix the issue. Try to completely uninstall both AMD and Nvidia drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) and then reinstall the latest drivers from the official websites.
    []Driver Rollback:
    • If the issue started after a recent driver update, try rolling back to a previous version to see if that resolves the issue.
    [
    ]Safe Mode:
    • Boot your laptop in Safe Mode. If the horizontal lines disappear, a third-party software might be causing the issue. In that case, perform a clean boot to find the culprit.

      Display Settings and Advanced Options

    []Screen Refresh Rate:
    • Sometimes, setting the correct refresh rate can help. Go to Settings > System > Display > Advanced display settings and ensure the refresh rate matches the specifications of your laptop's screen.
    [
    ]Hardware Acceleration:
    • Disable hardware acceleration for testing purposes. Open the NVIDIA Control Panel, go to Manage 3D settings, and turn off the hardware acceleration.

      Deep Dive

    []Check for Firmware Updates:
    • Ensure that not just the BIOS, but any other firmware related to the display (like the laptop's power management firmware) is up to date.
    [
    ]Windows Update:
    • Sometimes, Windows updates can introduce issues. Ensure your Windows is fully updated, or temporarily roll back recent updates if the issue coincided with a Windows update.

      Last Resort

If none of the above steps resolve your issue, it might be a hardware defect. Given that the problem doesn't show up in screenshots, it could be an issue with the display panel or the internal display connections. I'd recommend contacting Lenovo customer support or taking your laptop to an authorized service center for further diagnosis. Keep us posted on the results of these steps or if you need further assistance. Good luck!
