Windows 7 How do you pull Outlook Contacts from an External drive?

I have been trying to retrieve my contact list from a drive from my previous computer. After many hours of following instruction from various Microsoft sites I still have no success. They don't seem to address this particular situation. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

I think you can search for *.contact Each user can have their own private list of contacts.
