How do I delete drivers left behind by an uninstalled application in various directories?

Even with the UAC off (fully down) I cannot delete them.

[Windows 7 Pro 64-bit SP-1]

Hi Jim,

Specifics of the drivers you want to remove may be a help. Also have you tried changing the file extension from (usually) .sys to .bak or a.n.other name? That will break them and prevent them from loading at the next boot.

I don't think changing the extension is an option and I don't think they're loading at boot time. Windows won't let me do anything in these 'system' directories even with the UAC off.

Specifically the files, left behind after a Compro TV card was uninstalled are:

C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\comprohid.inf_amd64_neutral_4d2b630faf7cce49

C:\Windows\winsxs\Manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-m..comproxy-deployment_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_4ab2877b1e16b4a7.manifest

C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\comprohid.inf_amd64_neutral_4d2b630faf7cce49\ComproHID.cat

C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\comprohid.inf_amd64_neutral_4d2b630faf7cce49\comprohid.inf

C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\comprohid.inf_amd64_neutral_4d2b630faf7cce49\comprohid.PNF

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ComproHID64.sys

C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\comprohid.inf_amd64_neutral_4d2b630faf7cce49\ComproHID64.sys

(Output is from the Everything search tool)

Regards,

Jim.
