Hi The safe mode is one of the best trouble shooters Windows has. Here's the way to get this windows feature back on W10. I have to have my safe mode! Hope this helps someone. Please move if needed. This will work when you can't boot into windows and get to safe mode. Give it a look. You might like it.
Enable F8 key & Safe Mode in Windows 8 / 10
To enable the F8 keep, so that we can use it to start Windows 8-10 in safe mode, open an elevated command prompt window. Type the following and hit Enter:

bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy

If you wish to reverse the setting, type the following and hit Enter:

bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy standard

Good piece of info, but not really necessary. You can simply hold shift and select Restart to access the Advanced Start-up menu

HI Thanks I'll give that a try! I posted this for members that seem to have trouble booting into safe mode.
This works really well. I have to be able to get into safe mode. One of the best trouble shooters MS has going for it IMHO!
Do you get the same options in the Advanced Start-up menu as you do in safe mode?

Advanced Start-up menu is the menu to get to safe mode, its the same menu as tapping F8 on older OSes.
