Windows 7 How to Remove Internet Explorer from Default Programs List?

Can someone please tell me how to remove IE from my default program list?

You mean remove it from the Control Panel - Default Programs - Set your default program??
If so, then there is little achieved, it is dormant if it is not the default program and uses no resources.
If however, you mean you need another browser as your default, then the option to make the alternative browser should be within that particular one.
