Internet did not connect and when i went to network and sharing and troubleshooted it , it said that "local connection" has no valid IP configuration and when i put it back on desktop it worked. If you do not have router in front of your ISP modem you may have to reset the ISP modem. Some ISP modems grab the MAC of the computer and won't talk to another until the modem is reset. If you don't have a battery backup in the modem you can just unplug it for about 30 seconds, if battery backup you will need to find the reset switch, usually in the back, a small hole and push wilh a paper clip until the modem resets.
