I am not a computer expert and not a gamer except for a couple I play via FB. I have tried to load the windbg, but cannot get it to load the symbols (wrong symbols error). I have tried loading the W7F Diagnostic Tool, but even though I am administrator, I have no "Run As Administrator" option! GRRRRRR!! I do not know why I cannot do anything when I am the sole user on this laptop and my account says "administrator." I am running Windows 7 on an ASUS G73jw. I think they are caused by PCI Express as I have a message that says "PCI Express has stopped working 2 times HP is interested in gathering feedback." Attached are dmp files. I don't know how to fix this. Please speak as if I am in kindergarten as I do not understand lots of computer talk.

Re: I keep getting frequent BSODs...please help. Resolved

Thank you for all the information. You said to please remove the overclock. I have seen this term and looked it up and don't really understand it, but I know that gamers use it. Since I don't know what overclocking is, I have no clue how to stop/disable/remove it. I have decided to consult an expert. I just don't have the time, knowledge or patience to deal with it. I will pass along the information that you provided. Thank you again.

Update: took it to expert who said it was set on Turbo since I got it. So it was set to overclock. He turned it way down bc it was getting ridiculously hot causing the BSODs. Its fine now & doesnt run hot. Thanks for...
I will need the systeminfo report and the MSINFO32 report. If you can't generate them from the W7F Diagnostic Tool, post back and we'll see about creating them manually.

See Step E here to get the symbols to load in WinDbg: Link Removed

Finally, you give yourself too little credit. It took me years to get up the gumption to install and run WinDbg!

Just FYI - I've seen numerous graphics issues with the G73 series of laptops. Try the free Furmark test here to see if there's an issue with the graphics card: Link Removed Run the rest of the diagnostics (and those here: Link Removed ) as you have time available.

Please remove the overclock from the system while we're troubleshooting. Once the BSOD's have stopped, feel free to resume the overclock.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Please un-install this program:

Thank you for all the information. You said to please remove the overclock. I have seen this term and looked it up and don't really understand it, but I know that gamers use it. Since I don't know what overclocking is, I have no clue how to stop/disable/remove it. I have decided to consult an expert. I just don't have the time, knowledge or patience to deal with it. I will pass along the information that you provided. Thank you again.

If you haven't done it before, chances are the overclock was applied when your part was being made in the factory.
MSI Afterburner download : Link Removed
Install it and lower all your settings down down down (that is, if you only play games on Facebook)

Sorry for necro-posting and bumping a week old thread. Didn't see the last post date until I looked through the thread one more time.

Sorry

Update: took it to expert who said it was set on Turbo since I got it. So it was set to overclock. He turned it way down bc it was getting ridiculously hot causing the BSODs. Its fine now & doesnt run hot. Thanks for everyones input.
