Windows 8 Installing fresh Windows 8 - partitions

So I'm going to install a fresh Windows 8 on my new Acer Aspire V5 laptop. When I come to the drive/partition window it asks "Where do you want to install Windows?". The following partitions already exist:
  • 1: Recovery | Type Recovery
  • 2: ESP | Type System
  • 3: (no name) | Type MSR (Reserved)
  • 4: Acer | Type Primary
  • 5: Push Button Reset | Type Recovery
Is it safe to delete all these partitions?

I would imagine that they contained a version of whatever os was installed on your laptop previously. It just means that now that you've removed them you obviously cannot go back to that original operating system.
