Intel has released Version 16.8.0.1000 of the Rapid Storage Technology driver
Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) User Interface and Driver
Version: 16.8.0.1000 (Latest) Date: 12/8/2018

Detailed Description
Systems running driver version 15.9.x, 16.0.x, 16.5.x, or 16.7.x should update to the latest version.

Note: Intel recommends that end users utilize driver updates provided by their system manufacturer/provider or via Windows Update to eliminate the potential impact caused by loading non-customized drivers. System manufacturers regularly customize Intel generic drivers to meet the needs of their specific system design. In such cases, use of the Intel generic driver update is not recommended.

If you choose to update to the Intel generic driver:

Intel recommends that you perform this driver update via the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (IDSA) tool. IDSA provides an automated, simplified update process with no extra steps to perform, and may identify other needed important driver updates. If you are not sure if this driver/update is applicable to your system click the “get started” link below. The IDSA tool will provide the needed guidance.

Click here to get started with IDSA.

Only if you are INSTALLING the Intel® RST driver for the first time, enabling a new Intel® Optane™ memory module, click here.

Possibly inappropriate here? Move as you wish.
One thing I have always welcomed with Microsoft. was there attention to updating of "third party" hardware.
On a suggestion, just recently, I worked through the device manager, and selecting the option, in each case, to update drivers. Each and every Intel device needed an update form the origin.
So far, one or two weeks now, There have been no problems with these.

Intel has released Version 17.7.0.1006 of the Rapid Storage Technology driver
Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) User Interface and Driver
Version: 17.7.0.1006 (Latest) Date: 9/30/2019

Detailed Description
Systems running driver version 15.9.x, 16.0.x, 16.5.x, or 16.7.x should update to the latest version.

Note: Intel recommends that end users utilize driver updates provided by their system manufacturer/provider or via Windows Update to eliminate the potential impact caused by loading non-customized drivers. System manufacturers regularly customize Intel generic drivers to meet the needs of their specific system design. In such cases, use of the Intel generic driver update is not recommended.

Purpose

The Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) Driver 17.7.0.1006 supports the configuration and enabling of multiple features including:

  • System acceleration with Intel® Optane™ memory

  • Configuration and maintenance of RAID 0/1/5/10

  • Intel® RST

Note: Contact your system manufacturer prior to installing these applications or requesting technical support from Intel. They may provide software that is specifically configured for your system.

Which file to choose?

  • SetupOptaneMemory.exe

    • Specifically designed and optimized to support system acceleration with Intel® Optane™ memory modules

  • SetupRST.exe

    • Supports system acceleration with Intel® Optane™ memory in addition to advanced features such as management of RAID 0/1/5/10 volumes.

  • f6flpy-x64.zip (64-bit Operating System) / f6flpy-x86.zip (32bit Operating System):

    • Standalone Intel® RST Drivers with Intel® Optane™ memory support

    • May be required during Operating System (OS) installation to detect PCIe* NVMe* drive, refer to system manufacturer documentation or Intel Customer Support

Note

  • Only one of the Setup (SetupRST.exe or SetupOptaneMemory.exe) applications can be installed on a system at a time. Choose the application that makes the most sense for your intended usage and configuration.

  • The Intel® RST driver SetupRST.exe supports RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10. The driver should be installed after the operating system has been installed. F6 and RAID BIOS configurations need to be performed prior to installation of this driver for proper operation. This driver supports NVMe devices.
