Internet Explorer freezes up almost every time I open it and go to various sites. This happens particularly when I use the built-in search (Google).

I turned Protected Mode off and the problem seems to have gone away.

I am dual booting XP SP3 and Windows 7. 7 is installed on a 2nd internal hard drive.

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Pentium 4, 2.66 Ghz, 1 mb memory, Nvidia FX 5200 video card. System is 5 years old but runs XP very well.
