Windows 7 invisible Download folder

I have made settings to save downloaded files to a folder called C:\Junk. This folder is now invisible in most of my software. If I look at the properties of this folder, it displays the name "Downloads" and has an icon with a yellow folder with a large blue arrow.
How can I get the \Junk folder to be visible in my software folder lists?
Thanks

By what means did you create the folder?

"Downloads" is, in fact, the default download folder in Windows 7, created on first install. It looks like it has somehow been moved to your newly created folder.
The blue arrow usually means that the folder is part of a shared source to which you are connected. It looks like, somehow, it has become a "hidden" folder. Have you tried showing hidden folders in the Windows Explorer - Tools - Folder options?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, the Junk folder was shared with the Download folder. I have unshared them and things seem to be fine now - I can see the Junk folder in my software.
Thanks again.
