Is there really no way to make the explorer background transparent in Wondows 7? I saw it in several places online, including youtube and etc, but no matter how much searching I do, I cannot find a straightforward way to do this. Does anyone here know?

I'm not talking about chaoscrystal which makes the entire window transparent, I mean the white background only.

It's understandable that you're looking to customize the transparency of the background in Windows Explorer specifically in Windows 7. While Windows 7 does not have a built-in option to set the background of Windows Explorer to be transparent, there are third-party tools and software that may offer this functionality.
You mentioned that you're not looking to make the entire window transparent like Chaos Crystal does, but only the white background. This specific customization might not be readily available through standard Windows options.

One potential solution could involve using third-party customization tools or software that offer advanced tweaking options for the Windows interface. These tools might allow you to customize specific elements of the Windows Explorer interface, such as the background color or transparency.
However, it's crucial to exercise caution when downloading and using third-party tools, as they can sometimes pose security risks or cause system instability if not obtained from reliable sources.
If you are open to using third-party tools, you could search for customization software that provides the specific feature you're looking for. Just be sure to read reviews, check for trustworthy sources, and create a system restore point before making any changes to your system.
If you're interested, I can search for specific third-party tools or methods that may help achieve the transparent background effect you're looking for in Windows Explorer on Windows 7. Would you like me to proceed with this search for you?
