Windows 8 Just curious if anyone else has seen this problem

I have a Sony laptop with Windows 8.1.1 on it. When using something like IE 11 the taskbar refuses to go into hiding. I see now that it does when a program is put into full screen mode. I don't remember ever seeing this before, and that may take some getting used to, unless there's a way around it?

The IE (desktop version) is not a full screen app. The IE tablet version is full screen and the taskbar should be hidden. Which version are you talking about.
