So if the above is true there will be no need to upgrade for many of us (not to get DX12 compatibility anyway). Let's hope it's supported in the drivers and applications soon.

Even a test demo to show it's potential would be nice. Direct X 12 contains many features similar to AMD's 'Mantle'. This means less overhead and more grunt for gaming...

Both Jimbo and I had mentioned about how the games looked or felt a little different (for the better) and I wonder if this is because why?

Probably so. Looks to me like there is a lot of under-the-hood stuff going on to enhance performance through various means. So it looks like even non-directx games may still benefit from it.

Haven't done any benchmarking but things definitely feel alot smoother. Not sure why but image quality in games looks better too.
