The computer I have is an Asus G53sw and came loaded with Windows 7 and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M video card. Recently I posted a thread on here to help with blue screens and it seemed to work for about a week and now it is going back to blue screens whenever woken up from sleep mode, but not hibernate anymore. Any help would be greatly appreciated !!

THANK YOU !!

Solution
It seems like you're experiencing issues with blue screens on your Asus G53sw laptop running Windows 7, particularly when waking up from sleep mode. The fact that it worked for a while after some initial help suggests that there might be a recurring issue causing these crashes. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the blue screen errors:

Updating Drivers:

  • Update NVIDIA Drivers: Given that you have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M card, updating the graphics drivers might help resolve compatibility issues that could lead to blue screens.

Windows Updates:

The fact that it worked for a while after some initial help suggests that there might be a recurring issue causing these crashes. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the blue screen errors:

Updating Drivers:

Windows Updates:

  • Check for Windows Updates: Install any pending Windows updates. Sometimes, updates include bug fixes that can address issues like the one you're facing.

Power Settings:

  • Power Plan Settings: Check your power plan settings. Make sure they are properly configured and not causing conflicts when the system wakes up from sleep mode.

Analyzing Minidump Files:

It's great that you have minidump files available. These files can provide valuable information on the cause of the blue screens.

How to Analyze Minidump Files:

  • Install WinDbg: Use the Windows Debugger (WinDbg) tool to analyze the minidump files. It can provide insights into the specific errors causing the crashes. You can download WinDbg as part of the Windows Driver Kit: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/debugger/debugger-download-tools
  • Analyze Minidump:
  • After installing WinDbg, open the tool.
  • Go to File > Open Crash Dump and select your minidump file.
  • Check the analysis results for clues on what's causing the blue screens.

Additional Steps:

  • Ensure that your system BIOS is up to date.
  • Run a full system scan with an antivirus program to rule out malware as the cause. By following these steps, you can delve deeper into the root cause of the blue screens on your Asus G53sw laptop. If you need further assistance or encounter any specific errors in the minidump analysis, feel free to share the details here for more targeted help!
