When my phone (Window 10 mobile) is asleep and I put something on the desk near it the screen wakes up. This happens so frequently it seems like I can look at it and the screen lights up. Where is the setting to reduce the sensitivity of this?

Thanks

Solution
To address the issue of your Windows 10 Mobile phone waking up the screen when placed near objects or on a desk, you can adjust the sensitivity settings for the proximity sensor. Here’s how you can potentially resolve this: 1. Check for Updates: Make sure your phone's operating system and firmware are up to date. Sometimes, updates include fixes for sensor-related issues, so ensuring you have the latest software can help. 2. Proximity Sensor Setting: Windows 10 Mobile devices usually have proximity sensors near the earpiece. These sensors detect when an object is nearby, such as during phone calls when the screen needs to be turned off to prevent accidental touches. While there might not be a sensitivity adjustment directly...
While there might not be a sensitivity adjustment directly available, you can check the display settings to see if there’s an option related to the proximity sensor. 3. Light Sensitivity: Some devices turn on the screen when they detect a certain level of light falling on the proximity sensor. If the screen is waking up due to variations in ambient light, you might want to ensure the sensor isn’t being triggered inadvertently. 4. Cleaning the Proximity Sensor: If the proximity sensor is dirty or obstructed, it might give false triggers. Ensure the area around the earpiece and proximity sensor is clean and free from any obstructions. 5. Access Advanced Settings: Depending on the specific model of the Windows 10 Mobile device, there might be advanced settings to adjust sensor behavior. Check the device-specific user manual or settings menu for any such options. 6. Consult Manufacturer Support: If the issue persists and you can't find a setting to adjust the sensor sensitivity, reaching out to the manufacturer’s customer support for guidance might be the next step. By following these steps, you should be able to address the issue of your Windows 10 Mobile phone waking up the screen when placed near objects or on a desk.
