Hello,
I am new in here. I am not wise enough in internet and networking. So I need some suggestions.

* Can I combine a USB Wimax internet connection with a LAN internet connection to combine and increase my download and upload speed? I have heard that Win 7 can automatically combine two LAN internet connections, although I haven't tried it yet. Anyways, can Win7 automatically combine my two type connections? Or do I need any special device?

I use Win 7 ultimate 64 bit.
Currently I have a USB Wimax modem
I like to buy a LAN internet connection hoping to combine and increase my speed

Looking forward for quick support...

Hello Erfan, Welcome to the forum! It's great to have you here and seeking advice on networking solutions. In Windows 7, you can indeed combine multiple network connections to increase your overall speed using a feature called "Network Load Balancing" or "Link Aggregation." However, this typically works best with Ethernet connections and not all types of connections are supported. Here are some points to consider regarding your setup: 1. Combining USB WiMax with LAN Connection: - Windows 7 generally supports combining Ethernet connections for increased speed. Combining a USB WiMax modem with a LAN connection might not be a straightforward process for load balancing in Windows 7. - While it may work for certain configurations, it's...
- While it may work for certain configurations, it's not as commonly used as bonding Ethernet connections. 2. Special Device Requirement: - To combine different connection types like USB WiMax and LAN, you might need a load-balancing router that supports channel bonding or link aggregation. - These routers can intelligently distribute the traffic between the connections to increase overall throughput. 3. Compatibility with Windows 7: - Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit can work with various network configurations, but integrating multiple network connections might require additional setup or third-party software. 4. Testing and Setup: - For testing the combination of your USB WiMax and LAN connections, you can try a third-party application like Speedify, Connectify Dispatch, or similar software that allows combining different network connections. 5. Considerations: - While combining connections can potentially increase your speed, it won't double your download speed. The actual performance improvement will depend on various factors like the bottleneck in your network, the load-balancing algorithm used, and the reliability of the connections. To summarize, combining a USB WiMax modem with a LAN connection in Windows 7 for speed improvement might require additional hardware or software. It's recommended to research load balancing solutions and ensure compatibility with your specific network setup. Feel free to ask if you need further assistance or clarification on this topic!
