I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 last night and ended up with two control panel icons on my task bar. I called Microsoft and worked with them for 2 1/2 to three hours and I still have the icons and now my machine takes for ever to shut down and everytime it reboots I get and error that it didn't shut down properly and asks me to send the error message to Microsoft.

I have a duel core Pentium E5200 (2.5 GHZ) HP machine with 4 GIG of memory.

Any suggestions? :(

New Windows 7 Upgrade

It was an upgrade using boxed media and Windows 7 Ultimate and now I aslo get a green bar at the top of the screen during the boot.

Well, sounds like you have some holdovers from Vista. Have you tried opening an Administrative Command Prompt and using the "SFC /scannow" command (without the quotes). Maybe it will find some system files that need to be fixed.

You have done a complete shutdown and reboot?
