Hello,

I have a Gateway computer with an Optiarc DVD RW drive that works well most of the time BUT if i let my computer go to sleep an odd thing happens. When I power the computer back up from sleep, the drive starts revving up like its reading a disc, even when there is no disc inside, and it doesn't stop. Also the door will not open and windows explorer locks up if I try to interact with the drive in any way from my computer. THe only way to bring it back is to do a complete restart. I know the simple fix would be to not let my computer sleep but I like sleep mode, it's conveient and i like the blinking power button.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and reconnecting the ATA cable and I've tried different ATA slots on the motherboard. Any idea would be appreciated.

Thanks.
