I am having an issue with Outlook 2010 crashes. I have a user that attempts to reply/forward a message and it immediately crashes and restarts. Windows 7 32-bit with Office 2010. I have disabled all of the add-ins, with no luck.

Now, when I start outlook in safe mode this does not happen. This is only happening on two messages in the users inbox. I can forward and reply every other message in the inbox. I copied the text of the message and created a new message, when the text is immediately pasted into the new message outlook crashes. I am in the process of downloading SP1 for office 2010, but my next step after that is downgrading to Outlook 2007.

User is connected to an Exchange server too...

Any ideas would greatly be appreciated.

Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that Windows 7 is up to date with the latest updates and patches. Sometimes, system updates can address compatibility issues. 4. Check for Corrupt Messages: - Since the issue occurs with specific messages, there might be something unique causing the crash: - You can try moving the problematic messages to a different folder or deleting them. - It's possible that the email content (text, attachments, or formatting) triggers a bug or incompatibility. 5. Check Mail Format: - Sometimes, email formatting or special characters can cause issues. Try composing the email in plain text format and see if it still crashes. 6. Disable Hardware Graphics Acceleration: - In Outlook, go to File > Options > Advanced. - Under the Display section, check "Disable hardware graphics acceleration." 7. Create a New Outlook Profile: - Corrupted profiles can sometimes cause issues. Create a new Outlook profile and see if the problem persists: - Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles > Add. 8. Contact Microsoft Support: If the issue persists after trying these steps, reaching out to Microsoft Support may provide further assistance. 9. Consider Downgrading to Outlook 2007: - If the problem persists and is critical for the user's workflow, downgrading to Outlook 2007 can be a temporary solution. 10. Exchange Server Connection: Since the user is connected to an Exchange server, check if there are any server-side issues causing conflicts with the specific messages. By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot the issue with Outlook 2010 crashing while replying or forwarding messages. If you need further assistance or encounter any specific error messages, feel free to provide more details for a more tailored solution.
