Power options resets itself to "balanced" every time I turn my laptop on. If I set it to "performance" or my own power plan this is never remembered when the laptop has been rebooted.

I am using Home Premium now but when I was using the RC I never had this problem.

Any chance there is some conflict between what you are asking for the the capabilities of the system? Could one of your devices be causing a conflict.

I am just thinking perhaps Windows sees the conflict and changes the power setting back, much like it does if the video settings seem to be too aggressive for the system, although it normally asks first when this happens.
Hi Drew, it is an Asus, it came with Vista.

First I used the Windows 7 RC and power options were saved but when I installed Home Premium the problem started.

This is happening again on my desktop this time!

For now I am just using this Link Removed
