Windows 7 Printer NEVER detected..!

I have an Epson Stylus SX105 printer, but when I plug it into the computer, the computer does absolutely nothing - I don't think it's detecting the printer at all. Not showing in 'My Computer', either.

When I install the drivers for the printer, they cannot complete installation as Windows hasn't detected any printer!

Any ideas?

Is this a USB printer? If so, do other devices get detected? I hate to ask, but you do have it plugged in and turned on?

If it is USB, have you loaded any chipset drivers since your move to Windows 7? You may not need to, but check the USB listing in Device Manager and see if you show many USB controllers, and a couple of Enhanced ones.
