Hello all. I installed Windows Seven 64 Build 7600 yesterday to try it out. Everything runs very smoothly with the exception of Windows Live Messenger.

The problem I'm having is that it runs very slow. When someone talks to me and I switch to the chat window, it'll freeze for 1 sec before it shows up everything correctly and I can write anything. Same happens if I try to start a conversation, the chat screen that comes up will first "freeze" for 1 second.

I know it's not much, but it's really annoying and I cant figure out why this happens. I did a clean install yesterday and it fixed the problem during that session, but it's happening again today after the reboot. Any suggestions? :S Thank you.

  4. Check for Background Programs: Make sure there are no background programs consuming excessive resources. Use Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to monitor resource usage.
  5. Clean Boot: Perform a clean boot to start Windows with minimal processes to isolate any software conflicts that might be affecting Messenger's performance.
  6. Update Graphics Drivers: Outdated or faulty graphics drivers can impact performance. Update your graphics drivers to the latest version from the manufacturer's website.
  7. Check System Resources: Ensure that your system meets the minimum requirements for Windows Live Messenger. Insufficient RAM or CPU could cause performance issues.
  8. Run Antivirus Scan: Perform a full system scan with an updated antivirus program to check for malware that could be affecting system performance.
  9. Reinstall Windows Live Messenger: If none of the above steps work, consider uninstalling and then reinstalling Windows Live Messenger to see if that resolves the issue. These steps should help you troubleshoot and improve the performance of Windows Live Messenger on your Windows 7 system. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you have any questions!
