Hello, I have the following problem. I can not record sound reproduced by plear (winamp, windows media player, etc...). In sound control panel for recording only that there can be used as a microphone device which can be used for sound recording. The idea is that before there was - "what you here", and at regular recorder can be record sound of a film for example. Windows 7 is installed on the lap top Dell Inspiron 1525, sound card is SigmaTel. I try the windows driver , then i install the original driver from Dell for the sound card - still the same.

Solution
It seems like you are facing an issue where you are unable to record sound that is being played on your computer, specifically with applications like Winamp or Windows Media Player. This is a common problem related to the disabled "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear" feature that allows you to record sound directly from your sound card output. Here's a step-by-step guide to enable the "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear" feature on Windows 7:
  1. Check if the "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear" option is available:
    • Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Recording devices."
    • Look for "Stereo Mix," "What U Hear," or a similar option. If you cannot find it, follow the next steps to enable it.

    ]Update Sound Card Drivers:
    • Visit the Dell support website and download the latest drivers for your sound card (SigmaTel) compatible with Windows 7.
    • Install the updated drivers and restart your laptop.
[]Modify Registry Settings to Enable "Stereo Mix":
    • Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog box, then type in regedit and press Enter.
    • Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\MMDevices\Audio\Capture.
    • Find the key named {0.0.0.00000000}.{GUID} where GUID varies for each system.
    • Right-click on the key, select "New," then "DWORD (32-bit) Value," and name it EnableStereoMix.
    • Double-click on EnableStereoMix, set the "Value Data" to 1, and click "OK."
    • Restart your laptop to apply the changes.

]Set "Stereo Mix" as the Default Recording Device:
    • Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray, select "Recording devices," right-click on "Stereo Mix," and choose "Set as Default Device." After completing these steps, you should be able to record sound played on your computer using applications like Winamp or Windows Media Player. Remember to adjust the recording levels to capture the audio properly.
