Windows 7 Problems with Windows Updates

For some reason I am unable to install the Nov 10 updates for my Win 7 Pro desktop. I have selected "check for updates but let my choose when to downIoad and install" and all the related settings boxes are checked. I have tried the suggested fixes offered by Microsoft with no success. I am able see the list of updates after running check for updates but when I select the updates I want to install and click OK nothing happens. I use Norton Security Suite for virus protection and related protection..

I am aware that the Nov 10 patches contain some critical updates for Win 7. Oddly when I attempt to install some of the identified critical updates from the Microsoft download page, I get a popup that tells me this update is not for my computer?

Solved my problem - I learned that there was an update to windows update agent. After installing the update I was able to download and install the Nov 10 security updates.
