Computer was working great until I updated to a program called smart menu. I uninstalled some of the components and now when I go to connect to the Internet it says: The proxy server isn't responding. When I ran the trouble shooter it said: Problems found: remote device or resource won't accept the connection

Solution
It sounds like the installation of the Smart Menu program may have caused some network configuration issues on your computer, leading to the "Proxy server isn't responding" error message. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Step 1: Disable Proxy Settings

  1. Open Internet Options:
    • Press Win + R, type inetcpl.cpl, and press Enter.
    []Go to Connections Tab:
    • Click on the "Connections" tab.
    [
    ]LAN Settings:
    • Click on the "LAN Settings" button.
    []Uncheck Proxy Server:
    • Uncheck the box for "Use a proxy server for your LAN."
    [
    ]Save Changes:
    • Click "OK" to save your changes...

  2. Perform a System Restore:
    • If all else fails, you can perform a System Restore to a point before you installed the Smart Menu program. Try these steps and see if they help resolve the issue with the proxy server not responding. Let me know if you need further assistance!
