I was able to install drivers for this, but get a "Blue Screen" on shutdown

I was able to install driver by installing Catalyst run as Administrator, using "Suggested Compatibility" mode, then uninstalling Catalyst Control Panel(kept getting incompatible program message)

Note: this was a normal shutdown/reboot to start XP.

On the upside, I can now play native Windows games :o

It seems like you are encountering a "Blue Screen" error during shutdown after installing drivers on your system. The Event Viewer log you provided indicates a critical Kernel-Power Event ID 41 error, which typically occurs when the system reboots without shutting down properly first. This error can be triggered if the system crashes, becomes unresponsive, or loses power unexpectedly.

To address the Blue Screen error during shutdown, you can try the following steps:

### Troubleshooting Steps:
1. Check for Incompatibilities:
- Verify that the drivers you installed are fully compatible with your system and Windows version. Ensure they are designed for Windows 7.

2. Update or Rollback Drivers:
- Update the graphics drivers to the latest version. If the issue persists, try rolling back to a previous version of the driver.

3. Check for Windows Updates:
- Make sure that your Windows 7 system is up to date with the latest updates and patches.

4. Review Other Installed Software:
- Check for any other software installations or updates that might have coincided with the appearance of the Blue Screen error.

5. Perform a Clean Boot:
- Perform a clean boot to isolate the issue and determine if any third-party applications or services are causing conflicts.

6. Run System File Checker (SFC):
- Use the System File Checker tool to scan and repair corrupted system files that might be causing stability issues.

7. Check Hardware:
- Ensure that your hardware components are functioning correctly. Check for any overheating issues or hardware failures that could lead to system instability.

### Event ID 41 Details:
  • BugcheckCode: 207
  • BugcheckParameter1: 0x8fcbf9cc
  • BugcheckParameter2: 0x8
  • BugcheckParameter3: 0x8fcbf9cc
  • BugcheckParameter4: 0x0
  • SleepInProgress: true
  • PowerButtonTimestamp: 0

By following these steps and investigating the compatibility and functionality of the installed drivers, you can work towards resolving the Blue Screen error during shutdown on your Windows 7 system. If the issue persists, further diagnostics or professional assistance may be required. Let me know if you need more specific guidance on any of these steps!
