Hello Forum.

I already have Windows 7 (Pro64Bit) Installed on a 500GB Drive,
I would like to Add a RAID0 Volume with 2 other 1TB Drives

I have Gone into My Intel Raid Manager on my (ASUS P6T SE mobo) and selected to configure Sata as RAID and then added my 2 1TB drives as a RAID0

I Have also selected my 500GB Windows Drive as the Primary Boot drive.

Problem: When I boot windows advances to the loading screen and crashes and then reboots
(I have to disable the RAID0 Config to get into windows)

My question is: Can I add a RAID0 Volume like this or Do I have to setup RAID Partition when I install Windows and Do I need a Raid Driver to run the storage Volume

Many thanks
Sorry if this doesn't make sense.

A couple things here...first, when using RAID all drives are involved. Next, you have to have the ACHI driver installed and set in the BIOS. This must be done before the OS is installed. So this will require a clean install on your RAID set up.

I found this and it may shed some light on the subject for you....

Recap:

Why do I have to Select ACHI?

1. Create RAID0 Volume with 2 X 1TB drives
- Leave 500GB as a Non RAID Disk

2. Install Windows to 500GB Non RAID Disk with ACHI? Driver

3. Do I have to Install a RAID Driver for the RAID Partition even though I am NOT Installing Windows on it?

I am confused with the last post could you please explain again?
