Windows 7 Reading Yahoo mail using IE8

I am unable to open any pictures, videos, even a Jacquielawson
> animated card in yahoo mail The problem exists from any mail I get from anyone
There is no error message, the attachment is simply unresponsive even
though the cursor turns from normal to a "hand" indicating a URL that
can be opened but does not.
This issue occurs on all mail in the yahoo mail box,

The following actions were taken in regard to this problem and the
problem still persistes.

Disabled the anti-virus software temporarily.

Used IE 8 without add-ons

cleaned the cookies and cache

updated flash player

switched back to classic yahoo mail

Switchted to Chrome browser and the problem ends. I can open all
attachments and videos etc using Chrome, but the problem with IE8 still
remains

Tested from another computer and there is no problem.

If testing from another location means using my neighbors computer, then
that is what I did and there is no problem.

After reading the above it will be clear to all that I solved the problem by using Chrome, but I am stubborn and want to solve the IE8 problem which Microsoft tells me they wont help me with unless I agree to pay for the help . I am sure there are some smart readers out there who have seen this problem and have come up with a solution. I certainly appreciate any help given. Patrick Quinn
