Seems easy.
Does not work.
I reset Google to my default search engine in Edge
Restart pc
Search from taskbar and it goes straight to Bing as search engine
What the heck

First you must open Open the google home page of your choice (for me UK). Go back to settings -Advanced and scroll to the bottom - "Change search provider".
Delete Bing and then you have google as your default.

That's the issue right there.....using the search bar in the task bar is directly tied to Edge and Bing in the OS. No way around that.....it's why I don't use it. I do all my searches with in my browser of choice.....which is Chrome.

Nope. Didn't work. Bing resurfaces every time.

My fault. I misread your intentions. I think the only way to do it is by changing your browser to other than Edge. Firefox is recommended.

I use Chrome as default and Firefox for creating/downloading my videos.
(such as )

Still try to steer clear of using the taskbar to search for stuff, but every once in a while,
I slip and use it....then cuss internally.

Yup. I used Edge as well. Set homepage to Yahoo. Ahhhh Default for new tab is what I might need to set as well. Gonna see if that does the trick.

Welp...done and done.
Followed your steps. Bing resurfaced.
Went to set new tab, and selected blank page.
The new tab showed Bing.
On that new page, Customize did not show.
Oh well.
