Windows 7 Right click menu drop behind windows 7

My laptop has recently started giving me a problem. When I right click on an icon or on the taskbar at the bottom of my screen. The menu drops behind the taskbar. Making it impossible to select the properties. I have attached 2 screenshots of my problem. Im running Windows 7.
If someone could please help me.
