Windows 7 side-by-side confiruration is incorrect

I've just downloaded and installed Quicken2010 on a brand new computer with Win 7 . When I try to run Quicken 2010 I get the error "The Application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. ..." in a pop up. The rest of the error text says, "Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail." I tried the sxstrace program. It opened and instantly closed without a trace - . I can't find the relevant event log, and likely wouldn't know what to do with the info if I did find it! - Any guidance is welcome. Thanks, Tom.

Are you sure the program is compatible with Windows 7?

In another game I play we get this error as the game code was written with an older version of visual C++, I get round it by downloading and installing the Link Removed , make sure you get the "vcredist_x86.exe" file regardless of which version of windows 7 your using
