Hi,

I'm having some issues with my work network. We have 3 computers hooked up to a netgear router with static IPs for each. The internet comes in through a DSL modem also hooked up to the router. Our website passes variables through the header and has some server-side code to it so I set up the WAMP5Link Removed - Invalid URL server as an easy way to develop locally so I don't have to keep uploading. I had used this solution before with WinXP and it worked like a charm.

With Vista, I'm running into the following problem: while our internet conneciton speed is lightning fast (regularly outperforms the documented ISP speed by about 15%), when I try to connect to a local IP there is always a uniform delay of about 2 or 3 seconds. This can be infuriating when you are tweaking your code and have to reload every few seconds. I notice the same delay when simply trying to browse the network which makes me think that this is not a problem with WAMP but with Vista. Once past the delay, I get a dandy 100T download speed. The uniformity of the delay also makes me think that it is not some sort of cabling or hardware problem, but rather some piece of crappy code somwhere that takes a sec to get resolved before the connection is established.

So my question is this: is there some setting in the bowels of Vista somwhere that's tripping me up? I'm thinking it has something to do with intranet security settings or something similar, but I have not for the life of me been able to find it. Please help. It's driving me INSANE Link Removed due to 404 Error I'm almos to the point of downgrading back to XP SP2. Thanks!
