Moving the Start button down without the use of third-party tools like StarDock can be a bit tricky, as the default Windows settings do not provide a simple way to adjust the position of the Start button. However, there are some methods you can try to achieve this:

Method 1: Editing the Taskbar Settings

  1. Unlock the Taskbar:
    • Right-click on an empty space on the taskbar.
    • Ensure that "Lock the taskbar" is unchecked.
    []Resizing the Taskbar:
    • Hover the mouse pointer over the top edge of the taskbar until it turns into a double-headed arrow.
    • Click and drag the taskbar to adjust its height. This might move the Start button slightly down.

Method 2: Creating a New Toolbar

    ]Create a Folder:
    • Create a new folder on your desktop or in a location of your choice.
[]Add the Folder as a Toolbar:
    • Right-click on an empty space on the taskbar.
    • Hover over "Toolbars" and select "New toolbar..."
    • Browse to the folder you created and select it.
    [
    ]Adjust the Toolbar:
    • Drag the folder toolbar to the far-right of the taskbar, pushing the Start button towards the center.

      Method 3: Using Taskbar Shortcuts

    []Create a Shortcut:
    • Create a shortcut to an app or file on your desktop.
    [
]Pin the Shortcut to the Taskbar:
    • Drag the shortcut to the taskbar. This may push the Start button further down based on the placement of the new shortcut. Try these methods to see if they help in moving the Start button slightly down without the need for third-party software. Remember that these methods may provide limited adjustments, and for more precise control, third-party software may be necessary.
