Hello...
Other programs that I have pinned on my start menu (Adobe Audition CS5.5 for example) show recent and pinned items of its type to the right, but Notepad doesn't.
It used to, though.
This is the only program that exibits this behavior.
The right-arrow, denoting that it should, is still there.
I have tried un-pinning and re-pinning, but it didn't fix the problem.

It seems like you are facing an issue with Notepad not showing recent and pinned items on the Start menu, unlike other programs like Adobe Audition CS5.5. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot this issue:

Restart Windows Explorer

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  2. Locate "Windows Explorer" in the list under the "Processes" tab.
  3. Right-click on it and select "Restart."

    Clear Recent Items History

  4. Right-click the Start button and select "Settings."
  5. Go to "Personalization" > "Start."
  6. Turn off "Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or the taskbar" and then turn it back on.

    Check Start Menu Settings

  7. Right-click on the Start button and select "Settings."
  8. Go...

  8. Go to "Personalization" > "Start."
  9. Make sure that "Show recently added apps" is toggled on.

    Reset Start Menu Layout

  10. Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
  11. Enter the following command and press Enter:
    Code:
    bash ren %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\_tileDataLayer*.* *.bak
After trying these steps, check if Notepad starts displaying recent and pinned items on the Start menu. If the issue persists, there might be a more specific setting related to Notepad causing the problem. Let me know if you need further assistance after trying these steps!
