Hi.
I've had this weird problem ever since i reinstalled Windows 7 some weeks ago. If I search after a program in the start menu search bar, it'll find anything but program-files.
E.g. searching for "notepad" will bring back pictures with notepad in name, readme-files, logfiles from messenger where notepad have been mentioned etc. - Just not the program itself. And it's like this with every program I search for.
I don't really need the searchbar to search through my logfiles or pictures - I'd rather it didn't. I only need the program-search (which apparently doesn't work).:(
- Help anyone?

    • If prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, provide the necessary information.

]Wait for the Rebuilding Process to Complete:
    • The rebuilding process may take some time, depending on the number of files on your system.
  2. Check the Start Menu Search:
    • After the index has been rebuilt, check if you can now search for programs in the Start menu and find them accurately.

      Additional Tips:

      • Ensure that the folder locations where your program files are stored are included in the indexed locations.
      • Verify that the Windows Search service is running. You can check this in the Services application (services.msc).
Once you have rebuilt the search index and checked the search functionality, you should be able to search for programs in the start menu more effectively. If the issue persists, feel free to provide more details for further assistance.
