Not sure if I am in the correct forum for this question but, please indulge me. I use a VPN for downloading Netflix as I live in Japan and this bloody country has not allowed free downloading of Netflix from the US. Anyway, I have found lately that after about 20 minutes of viewing the monitor will go black, I will move the mouse and there is apparently no problem. Not a big thing, although somewhat annoying. Another thing is the pixilation on some programs. Maybe I've not got a fast enough video card (?). Not sure of the reason. Below for what i am running, thanks from an old retired sailor.

It seems like you are experiencing a couple of issues while using a VPN for downloading Netflix content. Let's address each of them: 1. Monitor Going Black After 20 Minutes: - The issue where your monitor goes black after about 20 minutes of viewing could be related to power settings or screen saver settings on your computer. - To adjust these settings: - Right-click on your desktop and select "Personalize." - Click on "Screen Saver" and check the settings for the screen saver and the time before the screen saver kicks in. - Also, check the power settings by clicking on "Change power settings" to ensure that your computer or monitor is not set to turn off after a certain period of inactivity. - Adjust these settings according to your preferences and to prevent the monitor from going black unexpectedly. 2. Pixilation on Some Programs: - Pixilation in videos can be caused by various factors, including the quality of the video source, internet speed, and hardware capabilities. - Given your system specifications, particularly the age of the hardware, it's possible that the video card may struggle with decoding high-quality video streams, leading to pixilation. - Consider checking for driver updates for your video card. Updating to the latest drivers can sometimes improve video playback performance. - Additionally, if possible, try lowering the video quality on Netflix to see if that reduces the pixilation issue. This can be adjusted in the settings on the Netflix website. In summary, adjusting your power and screen saver settings to prevent the monitor from going black and updating your video card drivers while potentially adjusting video quality settings on Netflix may help resolve the issues you are experiencing. Let me know if you need further assistance with any of these steps!
