So perhaps the problem was memory related?
 
Hi! You can edit resolution, I've them do it. Doesn't always work, but it's worth a try.... Just thought this software would make it so much easier. Don't have the edit necessary with me. I'll have to go hunting and see what I can come up with. (I remember something weird in on of the discussion groups "Vista Display Drivers") -But I don't know if that could be applied to a laptop, if so how?? Here's one edit- For example (see thumbnail below). The software is probably a better attitude, because it switches back to your regular registry. This won't unless you know how to reverse it. If you force the resolution perhaps it will show where the insufficiency is, and we can fix it from there.
