This morning I turned on laptop and SA was already running. I did not check any boxes that indicated I wanted this type of action. Should I be suspicious of this?

Solution
Personal preference/option for me to remove it.
If you don't want it to run automatically open the task manager and go to the Startup tab
Look for Support Assist and uncheck the check box.

I would just disable it and enable in the event you need to use it

For a minute I was think it was the "Remote assist". Is this a Dell computer? If it is I would just remove the software, I tend to remove most of the bloatware vendors load on computers.

Dell 5570. Support Assist one of their diagnostic tools. I like to use it - I feel like I'm doing something to keep system "healthy". I don't think it's bloatware - it's one of their apps. Tx.
